Frank L. Kurre

Managing Partner
Metro New York and New England 

Frank currently serves as the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Metro New York & New England Market Territory, the largest territory of his firm. In that role, Frank is responsible for all services provided by Grant Thornton to clients in eight states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Frank previously served as National Managing Partner of his firm’s Higher Education & Not-for-Profit Practice. In that capacity, Frank was responsible for all services performed by the firm for higher education and not-for-profit clients nationwide.

Over the past 32 years, Frank has served Fortune 1000 companies, middle market public and private companies, financial institutions and large not-for­profit organizations. Prior to joining Grant Thornton LLP, Frank was a partner at Arthur Andersen LLP.

Frank is a member of the Partnership Board, his firm’s governing body consisting of ten members elected by the fmn’s partners and the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. Frank was recently elected to a second 3 year term on the Partnership Board.

Frank is a member of the board of governors of St. John’s University. Frank is also a member of the board of directors of Catholic Health Services of Long Island and chairman of this health system’s audit and compliance committee. He is a member of the Manhattan chapter of Legatus. Frank currently serves as an advisory member to the Accounting Practices Committee of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Frank is a past member of the AICPA Executive Committee for Government Audit Quality and the Steering Committee for the Annual AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference held in Washington, D.C. He is a frequent speaker at many national and regional conference and seminars.

Frank received a B.S. degree in Accounting from St. John’s University, summa cum laude, in 1984 and was awarded the St. John’s University President’s Silver Medal for graduating with the second highest index in the College of Business Administration. Frank also received his Master’s degree in Pastoral Studies from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception of the Diocese of Rockville Centre in 2013 and was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Rockville Centre in May 2013.

Frank and his wife Francesca live on Long Island with their four children – Kristen, Frank, Lauren and Michael.
